Say whatever you want about this game, but it has been 4 years now and I still can't figure out why it was hated at the first place. I love this game....a lot. F&$k me, right?
I think mainly because of the glitches, and connor. AC3 was the glitchiest AC release before Unity, and the way connor speak is so monotone, and distant, making it difficult for you to relate.
Michael Panggabean I don't know, but I've never ran into any glitches through the entire game. And I don't think that glitches were that problematic, otherwise nobody would've spent 10 hours with skyrim for example. I do think that the main two reasons were first that people was so attached with Ezio that it was difficult for them to acclimate with the new protagonist, and second it introduced new techniques and relatively radical changes to the gameplay and that didn't go well with the gamers who were kinda used to the gameplay for already 5 games now, so change was not very welcomed.

I remember the anticipation when I saw this gameplay for the first time, the animations in this game are so good and the atmosphere is just magical, music- the best. It is saying something when I have odyssey and coming back to connor. I play this every winter. Pleasu ubisoft...give me more parkour animations in next AC game

2:16 This is why I hate demos, they always show neat little things (like Connor covering his face) that never make it into the game. You see its shit like that immerses the player, sure it wouldn't be realistic because in real life it would actually draw more attention but it looks cool and games like this aren't meant to be realistic, they're meant to look badass. I really like the ambition of Creed III, just a shame they couldn't pull it off. It seems that now they're too afraid to introduce some of the really cool features from this game because of how it completely failed, but Creed III and maybe Black Flag are the only Creed games I've played with truly mixed and contextual combat.

The parkour was AWESOME in AC3! Connor was so fluid and he responded to my controls the way I wanted him to.
In my opinion this is the best AC game I've ever played so far. The story kinda sucks, but let's face it, the navigation is pretty aweosome and the combat as well. I love the way Connor runs and the way he jumps, it looks so realistic. Also doing parkour on the frontier and sneaking in to the forts was so fun! The way Connor blends and make's assasinations well... everything!
On the other hand AC IV was a shame...

I think the only thing that wasnt actually in the game was the way that lady approached you to start the mission. Other than that, its all there, its just the dude is over exaggerating how some of this stuff actual works or affects the gameplay.
You cant counter attack an enemy without the "slow mo" being on. So, thats another one.

Βαγγέλης Τσακίρης enemies will detect you if you kill someone else with a bow while they are within sight range of you (if they could see if they turn to look at you). Now you know how to use the bow for stealth.

Besides some cheesy story moments, this in my opinion is the best game in the series. The combat was awesome. Even though it's button mashing you could still change your weapons during a fight to keep things interesting. They even did something which thought was awesome which was the environment kills. I remember killing someone with a bucket once. They had the notorious system. Desmond was still alive. Then they threw it all away and stripped to what it is now. Also something else that urks me now is that nothing holds any ground in reality anymore. Yeah I know we are talking about a fictional video game but having my character's cane sword appear and disappear when she's fighting just sucks me out of the world they are trying to convey. SAme goes for fucking invisible cloaks, I'm looking at you evie.
5:00 WTF was that move on the ship. he stabbed one guy and then shot the other. Then he ran up to the other guy and pushed him off. The second you stepped on that ship, every guard in the bloody city would have known your location right there.

+Shay Cormac My only question in Assassin's Creed III is that how do you recruit new members in this game because I know in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations that you can recruit new Assassin Members easily but in this game how do you recruit some teammates and new Assassin members based on what this gameplay footage showed. It kind of bothers me because when I first got this game and I saw that you can recruit some Assassins and have them disguise as guards and pretend that Connor has been captured by the Templars so you can infiltrate areas that are restricted easily. How do you recruit some Assassin's In this game because I never knew how to do that yet in this game.

Agreed, which is a shame when they move to Black Flag. I'd expected some cool little features from AC 3 moved there too.
Muhammad Ryan Indra Kusuma most of the stuff that I care about was actually carried over to Black Flag, and even more improvements were made there. The main downgrades were basically just that the combat got completely nerfed and that stalking zones instantly slow you down to like 1km/h instead of giving you a 3-second grace period of faster movement.

That is Prudence! The gameplay in this video is just a beta demo of the actual Homestead mission, so it's not the final one seen in game.
I don't understand how such an amazing concept can get so fucked up. Don't get me wrong this wasn't the worst game, but god damn was it hugely disappointing. The side missions were shit and practically nonexistent, the collectibles were shit and a waste of time, and despite all of the side activities they put in the game there just seemed like nothing to do in the world they built because they were all incredibly boring and just plain stupid. Also, the story was complete shit as well. Despite being set during the AMERICAN REVOLUTION there was practically no elements of the revolution AT ALL except a few failed set pieces that were completely anti climatic. What happened to all of the promised large scale battles like in the finale of the great movie The Patriot? Or fighting for freedom against an oppressor? What happened to the RISE concept from all of the trailers? I never felt like I was sparking a revolution. Instead all I felt like was a bounty hunter since Connor never stopped bitching about Charles Fucking Lee throughout the entire god damn game. In my opinion Ubisoft missed an AMAZING opportunity to tell a riveting story of revolution and fighting for freedom. It's the AMERICAN REVOLUTION. How do you fuck that up? Hopefully Assassin's Creed Unity will have that concept of fighting for freedom that this game sorely missed. A terrible, terrible disappointment. I wouldn't give this game higher than a 6/10.
They had side missions, they were the liberation missions. Once you did all the them in an area you got to talk to someone, and do a mission with them. After that they became "assassin recruits." Each one had a special ability they could do and had an interactive conversation with them. The reason I put quotations on assassin recruits was because they never had assassin robes even when they got to the highest rank which was an assassin. That being said they more felt like allies instead of assassins in your brotherhood.
They also had the naval missions which were a lot of fun. You got to upgrade the Aquila all the way, and even got a Templar to kill if you did them all. Lastly for side missions, there were the frontier ones which were ehh, but the homestead ones weren't too bad. You got to make and watch a community grow which was cool.
Connor had reason to be hasty, he had his village and mother killed by settlers. So you really think he's gonna be so happy with them?? He didn't really want to become an assassin either; he did it because of what Juno showed him. If you did the homestead missions he's actually really nice. Ubisoft just did a terrible job showing people that and explain why he was acting that way.
With the collectibles, I agree with you except for the peg leg trinkets. They were easy to get if you just bought a map. While getting them you got to do these really cool missions for getting parts of the map. When you ended up getting the treasure, you had a first civilization ring that would deflect bullets from you. Which made you "bullet proof." The page ones were pretty stupid and you didn't really get anything for it.

I do agree with you that they did a bad job showing a revolution. The first time I played it I kept thinking, "okay it's going to start up anytime soon." If they could have pulled that off, the game would have been MUCH better.

You are so right - I learned later that those demos were made in advance only for E3 2012 and most not playable but only assembled from gameplay footage only for show. The ones playable like fort St Mathieu did not make it in game like with the same setting like it was in the E3 - (In was part of a memory mission in E3 and turned to be just a generic fort side missions in the game) - It is actually what I fear with the gameplay demos we see for AC4 - the gameplay can change upon release.

There was no stealth in this what so ever and it was buggy and when you shot a arrow and a deer or a person it just bounce off of them and there was no bucks in this game. When you run on the building there is like a million soldiers on one roof who shoot you through walls

Rozan Ibnu welcome to Ubisoft! The place where: a 2012 game looks better than a 2017 game, where almost every game is beeing downgraded, where you never find that cinematic and emotional experience showed in the demo! Now one special applause for Ubisoft!
The stealth is better than the other games actually, there are many more stealth elements that are available, like hiding in bushes/long grass, mobile hiding spots, hiding in crowds is much improved, use anything to hide behind (buildings, trees), use any weapon to assassinate. People just don't use much of these, I like to give myself the challenge and despite people saying this isn't a stealth game, I like to actually be stealthy and use whatever I have in the environment.

It is sad that Ubisoft removed the "Side-missions" 0:51 from the game. That would have kept me busy after I finished the main story. Still an amazing game, and my favorite game of the year.
I think the reason the demos play out better than when we give it a try is because developers know everything about the game and the game mechanics from the ground up. That's why the first gameplay we see doesn't include the HUD. Because the developers know what to do and what to expect.
That's why. Its changing into a bigger and better game. Its not going to be the same in every game. Ubisoft montreal is the only developer that is trying to change and make the game better. It is great that AC is evolving. You should give props to Ubisoft

Guys as you can see in this demo most of the things that are shown are not in the actual game so when they show you a lot of stuff in the Ac4 demo don't be surprised if you don't see them in the actual game you will be quite disappointed

100% but again, it depends on what other games you enjoyed. I have learned through my years of being into video games that what the reviews say doesn't mean much to me. To me a good review means take a close look at a game and see if its similar to the other games you really enjoyed. So this game got an amazing review (something like a 9.5) and it seemed to me that it was similar to Batman Darkham Asylum, which i really enjoyed so i went for it, and im glad i did. So, yes i would recommend it!

Lure is missing. Even in the remaster version the developers did not fix that.
I don't know why everybody has such a big issue with this game. I enjoyed it, a part from the ending seeming incredibly rushed, I think it's solid. AC IV > AC 3 > AC 2 (simply because the only thing that keeps me playing this game nowadays is nostalgia, the gameplay itself feels so dated and although the story is beautiful, it's obviously not new to me anymore) > AC Brotherhood > AC Revelations > AC. IMO.

Since you're playing a new assassin, it doesn't really matter, but if Revelations is your first game, you should play AC2 then Brotherhood to understand Revelation's story.
this game was amazing.in terms of combat,stealth,navigation everything.thumbs up if u cant wait for ACIV BF
